History
The company’s history starts when Panagiotis Agouridιs, coming from Chios island, founded the distillery 'Chios' in 1893 in Patras. The production and bottling of Ouzo and Tentoura liqueur is the primary objective of the newly established company.
The first official recognition and the award for the high quality of Ouzo and Tentoura liqueur produced and bottled by 'Agouridis' based on traditional recipes came in 1930 in Brussels (Belgium). The company won the first place in the International De L 'Enfant Exhibition.
Seven years later, on September 26, 1937 the company was awarded the gold medal round of praise at the Thessaloniki International Fair. The award concerned the specialized preparation as well as the refined taste of the ouzo and liqueur.
Four generations later, the Andreas P. Agouridis Sons Distillery remains innovative and reliable in its field and continues to produce high quality products using the same original and traditional recipes invented by its founder in 1893.
